A group of more than two dozen people consisting of officials, staff and residents showed up to Rollingwood City Hall to pay their respects to City Secretary Robyn Ryan, who will be retiring her post in August.

The ceremony was held at the Rollingwood Municipal Building July 17 from 6-7 p.m. prior to City Council's regular meeting.

Her official last day will be Aug. 9, but council declared July 17, 2019 Robyn Ryan day, as that date marks the last City Council meeting Ryan will have attended as city secretary.

Following Mayor Michael Dyson's proclamation, about 10 people delivered tributes to Ryan's legacy—an 11-year career with Rollingwood— including Dyson and former Mayor Roxanne McKee, both of whom said they would have been lost in their roles in city government were it not for her measured guidance early in their careers.

Ryan also delivered an emotional address to the crowd and said she is proud to have worked for the city and with the people she did, adding she was looking forward to getting more sleep on the third Wednesday of each month—Rollingwood's scheduled day for City Council meetings.
