Here are two takeaways from Wednesday night's Rollingwood City Council meeting.
1. Community branding exercise discussed

Rollingwood City Council approved motions April 18 related to starting a community branding project with a professional marketing firm.

Next month the Rollingwood Community Development Corporation will ask the city for funds to subsidize the estimated cost of the project to be conducted with Rollingwood-based PR firm Buie & Co.

One outreach method could include a community survey, a branding workshop and signage concept work, documents from Buie show. RCDC is required to publicize notice of a 60-day public comment period, according to the city attorney.
2. New officer presented with badge

On April 18, Rollingwood police formally welcomed the department’s newest officer, George Ronne. He previously served 2.5 years with neighboring West Lake Hills Police, interim Police Chief Max Westbrook told council.
