Bee Cave City Council agreed March 8 to hire legal representation for a lawsuit naming the city of Bee Cave filed by development group Hill Country Texas Galleria LLC.

The plaintiff in the suit, served to the city March 7, is seeking declaratory relief in a property rights dispute relating to an undeveloped parcel on the northeast corner of Bee Cave Parkway and RM 620. The suit alleges the property owner was denied a curb cut and driveway access to the property, described as "Lot 3, Block B of the Amended final plat Hill Country Galleria," despite an April 2014 ordinance allowing the changes.

The suit follows another legal action brought January 23 against the city of Bee Cave, Mayor Pro Tem Bill Goodwin, Council Member Monty Parker and Council Member Kara King. That suit alleges the defendants engaged in an active campaign to prevent the development of The Backyard music venue on Bee Cave Parkway, west of RM 620.

Community Impact Newspaper will report any update or outcome from both suits as updates are provided to Bee Cave City Council.
