Following last night’s City Council meeting, Lakeway’s skyline will be changing once more.

Council members approved the following regarding new projects to be built within the city:

  • Issuance of general obligation bonds and ensuing property tax for the construction of a new police station, with bond bids reflecting a $19 annual increase in city property taxes on a $100,000 property, or an increase in city property taxes amounting to just under $100 annually on an average Lakeway home valued at $472,000;

  • New ‘Old Lakeway’ street signs to be constructed in Lakeway’s original neighborhood and depicting its historical significance;

  • A two-story medical office building is proposed for Lakeway Medical Village. The project takes the place of a former proposal to include restaurants and retail space.[/caption]
