Filing for local spring elections began Jan. 18, and those interested in running have until 5 p.m. on Feb. 17. to file for candidacy. The following local entities will hold special elections May 6. Bee Cave City Council Seats held by council members Kara King, Marie Lowman and Monty Parker are up for election. According to City Secretary Kaylynn Holloway, King and Parker had both filed for reelection as of Jan. 23. Lowman had also filed as of Jan. 31. Bee Cave council members serve two-year terms. Lakeway City Council Seats held by council members Bridge Bertram and Ron Massa are up for election and, according to Communications Coordinator Devin Monk, both have filed for reelection. Lakeway council members serve three-year terms and can only serve a maximum of two-consecutive terms. West Lake Hills City Council Places one, three and five, currently held by council members Rhonda McCollough, Stan Graham and Jim O’Connor respectively, are up for election. Those elected to city council will hold office for a term of two years. Eanes ISD Board of Trustees Places one, two and three, currently held by trustees Christie Bybee, Rob Hargett and Kal Kallison respectively, are up for election. Those elected to the board will serve a three-year term. According to Claudia McWhorter, Eanes ISD director of communications, as of Jan. 25 Bybee had filed for re-election in place one, Jason Paull had filed for place two and candidates John Havenstrite and Brian Sbrocco had filed for place three. Lake Travis ISD Board of Trustees Places six and seven, currently held by trustees William Beard and Bob Dorsett, Jr. respectively, are up for election. Those elected to the board will serve a three-year term.
