The Episcopal Church of the Cross in Lake Travis will gain a new vicar in February.
The Rev. Christine Brunson will take over the position, seeking “to meet you exactly as you are, where you are, and to walk with you on the journey through the valleys and mountains of this life,” according to a news release.

Brunson previously served as an associate priest at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Austin, and served as the first chaplain for the Port of Houston where she did outreach for Seamen's Church Institute. She also serves as an ongoing chaplain with Tania Glenn & Associates, where she provides pastoral care to first responders, veterans, aviation professionals and their families.
