The details
Started in 1985, the group’s original membership roster included 60 women, with its first-ever meeting held at the Lakeway Inn—now known as Lakeway Resort and Spa.
The group was started with the goal of creating social opportunities for women, and included monthly meetings on topics like fur coat fashion tips, dried flower arranging, Thanksgiving centerpieces and more.
Forty years later, the group has grown to over 500 members, with meetings now featuring speakers like former Gov. Rick Perry, fashion designer Kendra Scott, authors, television personalities and more. The organization also offers 30 special interest groups on topics such as pickleball, book club, happy hours, festivals, movies and more.
What they’re saying
"Four decades is a testament to the enduring vision of our founders and unwavering dedication of our members,” President Cynthia Keas said in an email. “The vitality of our organization is best reflected in our diverse offerings; creating a welcoming space for friends to connect over shared interests. The true legacy of this club lies in the bonds forged here."
