The populations of Bee Cave, Lakeway and West Lake Hills have increased over the last five years, while Rollingwood saw a slight decline in population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2022 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates released Dec. 7.

The gist

Lakeway brought the most new residents as the population grew from 14,147 to 18,835 from 2017 to 2022, while Bee Cave saw the highest percentage increase in population growth with a 41% increase, according to the American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates. Bee Cave’s population grew from 6,236 to 8,771 from 2017 to 2022.

What else?

The median household income for all four cities has also increased from 2017 to 2022, with Rollingwood seeing the biggest jump from $185,568 to $231,875—a 25% increase.



The median age in all four cities has remained mostly unchanged, with Bee Cave seeing the biggest decrease in age from 41.9 to 37.7 from 2017 to 2022.
