John Imperial, owner of Villarina’s Pasta & Fine Foods in Westlake, said the store has grown increasingly busy since its 2014 opening. The store sells take-and-bake Italian food, including homemade pastas and sauces.

Imperial said new items were added to the menu in 2015 at the request of customers, including veal marsala and veal picatta. The store now offers baguettes from a supplier in Maryland that are very popular, he said.
“We’ve been really focusing on fine-tuning our operations,” he said. “We added a rewards program that works well, and I want to make sure people can get what they want here. If customers request items, we listen.”
Imperial said his store will begin carrying Marino’s Italian Ices in the spring. Marino’s Italian Ices is a frozen dessert line based in Richmond Hill, New York.
