A steady stream of visitors have walked through Pfennig Park in Pflugerville to pay their respects for Veterans Day.

The American Veterans Traveling Wall, an 80-percent-sized replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., is on display 24 hours a day through 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

Light towers are in place to illuminate the memorial.

“We celebrate that we honor our veterans with this commemorative display coming to Pflugerville over the Veterans Day holiday,” said Mayor Jeff Coleman in a release from the city.

Amberly Fowler of Georgetown said she brought her young daughters, Zoey and Zenly, to pick a name and pray for the soldier.

“They wanted to pray for all of them,” Fowler said. “So we are.”

The city of Pflugerville partnered with American Legion Kerlin-Lyerly Post 154 to have veterans onsite to assist the public 24 hours a day.

High school volunteers and city staff will use a computer program to help guests locate names on the wall from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.

The wall is 360 feet long.

Pfennig Park is located at 1301 W. Pfennig Lane, Pflugerville.
