Thanks to new care guidelines, the pediatric emergency care of Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas is now available for patients at Seton Medical Center Hays in Kyle.

According to a release, the care guidelines were developed in partnership with pediatric experts at Dell Children’s. When further advanced care is needed, doctors at Seton Hays will be able to use virtual care technology to link directly to Dell Children’s specialists.

“As Hays County continues to attract more families, it’s important to meet our community’s expanding needs,” said Neal Kelley, chief operating officer of Seton Medical Center Hays, in a release. “We’re excited to offer the quality care of Dell Children’s right here at home, in Hays [County].”

Parents can also now book appointments online at www.dellchildrenser.com. This feature allows patients with minor emergencies to be seen within 15 minutes at either the Dell Children’s campus in Austin or at the Seton Hays site.

“Seton Medical Center Hays is a great and convenient option for children who need acute care,” said Rhett Reed, medical director of emergency care.

Later in the new year, Dell Children’s plans to expand its emergency care to additional Seton sites, such as Seton Southwest and Seton Northwest Hospitals.
