Georgetown commuters can expect three road closures throughout the city this summer as construction crews work on repavement and reconstruction.

What residents should know

According to city information, new road closures in Georgetown include:
  • Rockride Lane: closed from SE Inner Loop to Carlson Cove, June 16-Aug. 4
  • NE Inner Loop: lane closures from Hwy. 29 to FM 971, June 16-July 4
  • Spring Street: closed at North Austin Avenue, June 23-July 2

A closer look

The Rockride Lane reconstruction will create a two-lane roadway with a continuous center left-turn lane, and add a 10-foot-wide shared-use path on the east side of Rockride Lane from SE Inner Loop to Sam Houston Avenue, according to ClearGov, a government budgeting software the city uses.

A traffic signal at Sam Houston Avenue and Rockride Lane became operational Feb. 25, Community Impact previously reported.
