What residents should know
According to city information, new road closures in Georgetown include:
- Rockride Lane: closed from SE Inner Loop to Carlson Cove, June 16-Aug. 4
- NE Inner Loop: lane closures from Hwy. 29 to FM 971, June 16-July 4
- Spring Street: closed at North Austin Avenue, June 23-July 2
A closer look
The Rockride Lane reconstruction will create a two-lane roadway with a continuous center left-turn lane, and add a 10-foot-wide shared-use path on the east side of Rockride Lane from SE Inner Loop to Sam Houston Avenue, according to ClearGov, a government budgeting software the city uses.
A traffic signal at Sam Houston Avenue and Rockride Lane became operational Feb. 25, Community Impact previously reported.

Georgetown officials are managing additional road projects and completion dates throughout the city, including:
- Austin Avenue construction from Fourth Street to Sixth Street
- $3.25 million in downtown waterline upgrades to reach completion June 26
- An $11.38 million Austin Avenue bridge rehabilitation to reach completion spring 2026
- A $30.47 million DB Wood Road Phase 1 reconstruction to reach completion May 2026
- A $6.98 million Southwestern Boulevard expansion to reach completion in December
