Georgetown drivers can expect to see five new traffic signals throughout the city as officials prepare to bring them online by this summer.
The gist
According to information from the city, the traffic signals and their anticipated activations timelines are:
- Sam Houston Avenue and Rockride Lane: Feb. 25
- Wolf Ranch Parkway and Southwest Bypass: spring 2025
- Wolf Ranch Parkway and Legacy Crossing: spring 2025
- Wolf Ranch Parkway and Rivery Driveway: spring 2025
- SE Inner Loop and Southwestern Boulevard: spring 2025
If the city receives funding, officials aim to have the signal operational in 2027, a city spokesperson said in an email.
The new lights at Legacy Crossing and Rivery Driveway will be temporary wire signals until Wolf Ranch Parkway is built out, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
Something to note
During the Jan. 28 presentation, Saluone said officials were 90% done with construction plans for a signal at Williams Drive and CR 245, and his team hopes to get bids out for it quickly.
Additionally, TxDOT will open bids for a signal at CR 245 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard in September.
Remember this?
A stop sign at the intersection of Rockride Lane and Sam Houston Avenue was installed Sept. 16, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
