Drivers along I-35 in Georgetown could see delays while construction crews close portions of the new northbound frontage roads to complete construction between Aug. 19 and Aug. 28.

Contractor, Hunter Industries, has scheduled daytime closures of varying lanes on the northbound frontage road between Westinghouse Road and Leader Road on Aug. 19-21 and Aug. 24-28 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., according to an Aug. 19 news release from the county.

The closures could also mean closing the entrance and exit ramps periodically, according to the release.

Work includes completing tie-ins and placing the final surfacing on the frontage roads, driveways and ramps.

On Aug. 10 contractors permanently closed the northbound I-35 entrance ramp located just south of Blue Springs Boulevard.

During the lane closures drivers may have to use Exit 257 south of Westinghouse Road to access SE Inner Loop, according to the release.
