The nonprofit organization A Gift of Time began a respite program at St. John’s Methodist Church on Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The program offers the opportunity for people living with mild to moderate dementia to come together; socialize; and provide their caregivers time to run errands, visit with friends or have alone time, Executive Director Becky Folta-May said. The organization has been hosting about seven individuals weekly, but hopes to serve more with additional volunteers.
