To mark the start of kitten season, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will host a “Kitten Shower” March 26, according to a release from the county.

To be co-hosted with the Critical Kitten Care Fund, a Cedar Park-based nonprofit, the event will run from 1-3 p.m. at the WCRAS Services Center at 1855 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, and is being held to aid the shelter in preparing for the anticipated influx of animals during the seven-month kitten season.

According to the release, WCRAS typically sees 1,500 kittens brought to the shelter in that period.

The Kitten Shower is scheduled to include adoptable kittens, a bake sale, games and crafts for children, door prizes, food trucks and other vendors.

Admission to the event is an item from the shelter’s wishlist or a comparable monetary donation. The wishlist includes cat toys, catnip, stainless steel bowls, cat carriers, Feline Pine Original cat litter, dessert-sized paper plates and other items. The shelter’s full wishlist is posted at https://pets.wilco.org.
