Anna Eby has won re-election to Georgetown City Council’s District 1 seat, according to unofficial returns Saturday from the Williamson County Elections Department.

Eby received 53.52 percent of 256 votes cast in the District 1 race against challenger Mary Calixtro.

All polling locations have reported returns, according to the elections department.

Anna Eby has built upon an early lead over Mary Calixtro in the race for Georgetown City Council District 1, according to updated vote counts Saturday.

Eby, the incumbent, has received 53.52 percent of votes so far to Calixtro’s 46.48 percent, according to the Williamson County Elections Department.

Elections officials report 256 votes have been counted in the District 1 race.

Countywide, 19 of 27 polling locations have reported returns, according to the elections department.

Anna Eby has a slight lead over Mary Calixtro in the election race for Georgetown City Council District 1, according to unofficial early voting returns Saturday.

 

Eby has 51.68 percent of votes so far, according to counts from the Williamson County Elections Department. Calixtro has 48.32 percent of votes.

County numbers show 149 early voting ballots have been counted.

Eby, a business-litigation and appellate lawyer, has served on the council since 2015 and is the current mayor pro tem. Calixtro is a co-founder of the Southeast Georgetown Community Council and has previous work and volunteer experience with the St. Helen Catholic Church Hispanic Ministry. The council has seven members, each elected from individual districts, who adopt the city’s annual budget, enact local legislation and set city policies. Council members are elected to three-year terms by voters in individual districts.

District 1 covers territory east of I-35 and south of University Avenue and includes portions of Old Town and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital.

Both candidates took to Facebook to encourage voter turnout on Election Day.
