The Cullen Trust for Higher Education and Southwestern University donated $100,000 to Georgetown's The Caring Place on July 13 to aid the organization in fulfilling its mission—to provide for the basic human needs of all people in Georgetown, according to a news release.
The donation is part of an emergency response to help individuals and families who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, it said.
The Caring Place provides services to over 6,600 individuals, but with the pandemic and economic downturn the needs of the community are expected to significantly increase, it said.
