After 35 days of a Williamson County burn ban, the Commissioners Court lifted the ban at 10:08 a.m. April 29.

What residents should know

The burn ban originally went into effect March 25 due to elevated fire weather conditions, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

Williamson County Chief Fire Marshal Mike Lugo recommended commissioners terminate the burn ban at an April 29 Commissioners Court meeting.

“We have had rain the last few weeks,” Lugo said. “Outside has been pretty green. There [are] some dry areas still underneath the green brush, but the firefighters, for the most part, have been controlling any fires that have been out there.”
