The population of both Georgetown and Williamson County has increased by about 22% from 2017-22, according to recently released U.S. Census Bureau 2022 American Community Survey one-year estimates.

This comes as Georgetown has been named the fast-growing city in the nation with a population of more than 50,000 for two years in a row.

Additionally, the population growth of the city and county has outpaced that of Texas, which was about 6% from 2017-22.

Home to Sun City—an age-restricted community—and a host of senior living facilities, Georgetown's median age and overall population breakdown skew older than that of Williamson County and Texas.
  • Georgetown median age: 44.2
  • Williamson County median age: 37.2
  • Texas median age: 35.6

Compared to Williamson County and Texas, Georgetown has a smaller percentage of Hispanic and Latino residents and a larger percentage of white residents.
