The Williamson County Regional Animals Shelter is offering free adoption for dogs and cats older than 5 years old and large dogs during its Grandparent's Day event Sept. 12-13.

All adopted animals are spayed or neutered, are up to date on their age-appropriate vaccines and are microchipped, according to a news release. The shelter will also update the pet's registration to the adoptee's name, it said.

Adoptions begin at 11 a.m. and are by appointment only. Those interested in adopting an animal should email [email protected] for an appointment.

Small dogs and puppies will also be up for adoption and are $75 each. Kittens are buy-one, get-one-free for the same price.
