From New Year’s celebrations to sports camps and art classes, residents have a handful of opportunities to expand their skills or plan some fun for the coming months.

Basketball Camp

Children and teenagers can improve their basketball skills in this clinic with a focus on ball handling, shooting, footwork and defense techniques. Youth ages 6-12 can participate in the beginner’s clinic and ages 10-18 are welcome in the intermediate clinic.

Enchanted Black Moon Soirée

Community members are invited to close out the year with the spiritual event, where they will create a group mandala with personal items such as photos, crystals and jewelry. Participants can enjoy a sound bath and design a piece of intentional art after the ceremony concludes.

New Year’s Eve Soirée


Georgetown residents can celebrate the start of a new year with a three-course meal, a champagne toast and dessert at three of the restaurant’s holiday event times. The 8 p.m. seating time will include a countdown to midnight.January

New Year’s Day Hikes

Individuals can spring into the new year in hiking boots with a guided three-mile hike featuring some steep inclines. Preregistration for the event is required and participants ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult participant.

Volleyball Camp

Children ages 8-14 can dig deep at the two-day clinic and learn volleyball skills such as forearm passing, setting, spiking and serving. Experienced players are welcome to join and learn defense skills and positions.

Adult Watercolor Painting Class


Taught by Kim Hoester, adults will learn how to watercolor paint in this 8-week introductory class. From basic techniques to hands-on lessons, participants will gain a wide range of skills during the 16 classes and embrace their inner artist.

Elle Townley Concert

Country music fans are welcome to gather at an eatery on the square for a free concert by the local musician. Townley was nominated for 2024 Young Artist of the Year by the Texas Country Music Association.Plant it Forward

Power of an Educated Girl Conference


Girls in third through 12th grade can attend the science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics event presented by Dr. Debra Malone, where attendees will learn about opportunities in the STEAM field. Attendees can expect an egg drop challenge, lunch, door prizes and gift bags.
