What’s Happening?

The Pedernales Electric Cooperative, which supplies power to more than 385,000 accounts throughout Central Texas, is holding a vote for two new director positions for Districts 2 and 3 through June 9 at 5 p.m., according to a May 16 news release. The positions will last for a three year term, and voters will be able to choose from five different candidates.

• Emily Pataki

District 3:

• Mark Ekrut

• Micheal Guess


• John Hoffner

Who is Affected?

District 2 covers the area of Cedar Park and Leander. District 3 covers most of Northwest Austin and the Lake Travis area.

The release states members can vote online, by mail, through the PEC office, or by using a computer or smartphone to access the PEC SmartHub. For more on the election and the candidates, click here.

Why it Matters

PEC provides power to a substantial number of Texans, and the release states the vote will "provide members an opportunity to choose the leaders who will represent them and their interests in the cooperative."
