Some Wolf Ranch Elementary students will begin attending Frost and San Gabriel elementaries this fall.
The board of trustees approved new attendance zones at a Feb. 17 meeting. The rezoning is intended to relieve overcrowding at Wolf Ranch while maximizing the existing open capacity at the smaller elementary campuses, Chief of Strategic Operations Lannon Heflin said.
The impact
The new attendance zones will increase enrollment at San Gabriel by about 150 students to 527 students and raise Frost Elementary's enrollment by nearly 100 students to 511 students, according to district documents. Both campuses are designed to accommodate a capacity of 850 students.
