What you need to know
The GISD board of trustees approved the addition of a new course in the engineering pathway March 24.
The measure was approved as part of the board's consent agenda for the evening, and was not discussed individually by trustees.
The details
The course, intro to computer-aided design and drafting, will provide students in the engineering pathway with an opportunity to build consistency in their coursework. The new course does not require additional funding, according to the district.
Remember this?
This engineering course is not the only new class to be offered in the coming school year. As previously reported by Community Impact, the district will also offer a precision manufacturing pathway for the first time this fall. It will be offered through a Pathways in Technology Early College High School partnership with Austin Community College.
