Forbes Middle and Village Elementary Schools will soon have new principals, Georgetown ISD announced Feb. 21.

In a Feb. 21 announcement, the district named Tosha VanMetre the new principal for Forbes Middle School, and Jarred Dorhauer the new principal for Village Elementary School.

Both are internal hires. Dorhauer began in his new role immediately, while VanMetre is expected to take over the position this spring, according to the district.

VanMetre has served as principal of Carver Elementary School since 2021, and previously was an assistant principal at Forbes Middle School. According to the district, VanMetre holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University Texas and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Arkansas State University.

Dorhauer moves into his role as Village Elementary School's newest principal from an assistant principal role on the same campus. He holds a Master of Education in Education Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor or Arts in history from Texas A&M University, per the district's announcement.
