Georgetown ISD will hold events honoring Veteran's Day across all but one of its campuses Nov. 10, as Nov. 11 falls on a non-school day.

What's happening?

Each GISD campus will hold its own celebration marking the day, with some to include watch parties, performances and other activities:
  • Carver Elementary will hold a parade at 9 a.m. around the campus.
  • Cooper Elementary will hold a music program and parade beginning at 9 a.m. in the campus' gym.
  • McCoy Elementary will hold a Veterans Day honor choir performance at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria.
  • Mitchell Elementary will hold a parade around the campus at 9 a.m.
  • Purl Elementary's fifth grade performance and program will be held at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively, in the Purl Elementary cafeteria.
  • Village Elementary will hold a Field of Honor Performance at 10 a.m. at the Field of Honor behind the Hammerlun Center for Leadership and Learning.
  • Williams Elementary will hold a parade at 9 a.m. in front of the school, with a reception for veterans and their families to follow in the cafeteria.
  • Wolf Ranch Elementary will hold a performance and veterans breakfast at 8:15 a.m. in the cafeteria.
  • Benold Middle School's band, choir and orchestra will give a performance at 10:15 a.m. in the school's gym.
  • Forbes Middle School's band, choir and orchestra will perform at 10 a.m. in the gym, followed by special remarks.
  • Tippit Middle School will hold a ceremony and musical performance beginning at 10 a.m. in the gym, followed by special remarks.
  • Georgetown High School's choir, band and orchestra will perform from 8-8:40 a.m. in front of the school followed by special remarks.
What else?

East View High School's band, choir and orchestra will perform at 10:45 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Annual Veterans Day Ceremony in Sun City at the Veterans Memorial Plaza, 2 Texas Drive, Georgetown.
