After multiple discussions with city officials and accessing facilities, Georgetown ISD will reopen school with a two-hour delay, according to the press release.

While a handful of neighboring school districts will remain closed, GISD district officials determined that they are prepared to reopen their facilities and safely have buses on the roads, according to the release.

“That means that school start times will be delayed by two hours, and bus pickup times will be delayed by two hours from the normal schedule. As a reminder, you can view our school hours on our website,” the statement said.

While Georgetown ISD understands that residents are still dealing with the damages from the winter storm, they hope that the two-hour delay will provide everyone with ample time to start their day.

“We hope everyone has remained safe these past few days and look forward to welcoming you back tomorrow,” Georgetown ISD Superintendent Fred Brent said in the press release announcing the delay.
