Georgetown ISD named Heather Stoner the executive director for campus and student services during a special-called meeting of the GISD board of trustees May 24. Stoner had been serving in GISD as the director for campus operations and Title IX since 2020 and assumed her new role immediately, according to a release.

“Heather is a natural fit for this position,” Superintendent Fred Brent said in the release. “Her experience as an elementary and high school principal was of significant value when leading campuses during the pandemic, and I’m certain it will serve us well as she continues in this new role.”

Prior to coming to GISD, Stoner served Lago Vista ISD as both an elementary and high school principal as well as an assistant principal, a teacher and a coach. Stoner enters this new role with 24 years of experience in public education.

In her new role, Stoner will be responsible for monitoring, coordinating and supervising district operations including counseling services, health services, campus and district operations, Title IX and student attendance. Stoner will also be responsible for establishing and supporting a culture aligned to the GISD Strategic Framework.
