Georgetown ISD canceled classes Feb. 12 for all students—in person and remote—due to predicted inclement weather, Superintendent Fred Bred said in a Feb. 11 letter to parents.

In addition, after-school activities for Feb. 11 have been canceled. Brent said the district will make a decision at noon Feb. 12 about after-school and extracurricular activities for that day.

GISD also will not have classes Feb. 15-17, as previously planned. These days will allow time for professional learning and a teacher workday.

Students are scheduled to return to the classroom Feb. 18.

“I appreciate your patience as we navigate unpredictable conditions and work to make decisions that keep everyone’s safety in mind,” Brent said.
