The Palace Theatre's Doug Smith Performance Center opened for student summer camps June 29.
The center was designed specifically for a children's theater program. The 14,500-square-foot facility includes a performance space with more than 200 seats, a dance studio with a professional dance floor, seven classrooms, a rehearsal space, and an outdoor terrace that can be used for classes or events. 512-869-7469. www.georgetownpalace.com
