Prior to that, she served as a special education coordinator at Forbes and taught special education at the elementary and middle school levels. Guidry has a combined 13 years experience in education.

“Jennifer is a graduate of GHS and a product of GISD,” Superintendent Fred Brent said. “It’s not often that a principal is named in their hometown district.”

Guidry holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Wayland Baptist University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Concordia University Texas. Guidry lives in Georgetown with her husband, Wesley, an engineer, and their two children, Liam and Demi.

Overall, Sloan has 16 years of experience in education.

“Sloan brings incredible leadership experience to Georgetown,” Brent said. “Her depth of experience in multiple areas of school leadership is impressive.”

Sloan holds a doctorate in educational leadership from California State University, a master’s in teaching and a bachelor’s in geography from Southern Oregon University. She resides in Leander with her husband, Spencer, a teacher and coach in Leander ISD, and their daughter, Brooklyn.

Guidry and Sloan will direct and manage campus operations and lead instructional programs to ensure high standards of instruction and student achievement at their respective schools. They assume their new positions in July.
