The Uptown Social, a rooftop restaurant, bar, lounge and terrace in downtown Georgetown, is permanently closed. The business was open at 501 S. Austin Ave., Ste. 1410, for eight years.

"Due to a litany of issues, the decision to close had to be made rather quickly," Managing Partner Frank Smith said in a Dec. 9 Facebook post. "Christmas Stroll Saturday was our last day of business."
