Atlas Senior Living plans to open one of two of its first retirement communities in Texas in Georgetown. The other Texas community will be built in New Braunfels.
Construction is scheduled to start in early 2020, a news release said. The community will have a total of 231 units comprising 175 independent-living, 40 assisted-living and 16 memory care units.
Atlas expects to hire over 100 people full-time for the community, the release said.
The site for the project has been identified and is soon to be under contract, but Atlas is not publicizing the location yet, President and CEO Scott Goldberg told
Community Impact Newspaper in a follow-up email.
Birmingham-based Atlas Senior Living operates 11 retirement communities in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky, offering independent living, assisted living and memory care services, the release said. In 2020, Atlas will expand into Florida and Texas.
