The Williamson County and Cities Health District confirmed 139 additional cases of the coronavirus July 1, bringing the total to 2,339.

Currently, 98 patients are hospitalized, 35 are in intensive care and 11 are on a ventilator, it said. The WCCHD also reported 28% of hospital beds, 15% of ICU beds and 53% ventilators are available.

On June 30, the county reported 130 additional cases and 103 patients in the hospital. It also recorded two additional deaths, bringing the total to 39.

The county continues to see an increase in cases, hospitalization and its positivity rate, or the rate at which tests return positive for COVID-19.

Cities such as
Round Rock, Cedar Park and Georgetown have implemented emergency regulations requiring individuals to wear face coverings in public.


There are currently 1,322 active cases in the county, with 932 individuals recovered, per the report.
