Dale Butler was named Williamson County’s Senior Director of Facilities Management and Planning March 5, according to a news release.

Commissioners Court approved the change in position to a senior director, which reports directly to the court.

Williamson County has 65 facilities located throughout the county, according to the release. The Facilities Department has 30 employees who maintain and repair all of the facilities as well as oversee new construction and remodels. During the past year, Williamson County added seven new facilities and more than 178,000 square feet of space. In total, Williamson County has 1,676,000 square feet of facilities, according to the county.

Butler began working for Williamson County in June 2011 as the project manager for new construction projects, then was promoted to the assistant director. Butler graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in agriculture systems management with an emphasis in construction management. Prior to working for Williamson County, Butler worked as a project manager for various general contractors, according to the release.
