The top fundraisers for Williamson County treasurer and clerk positions flipped as the Democratic candidates raked in more money in the weeks leading up to the election than their Republican counterparts, according to eight-day campaign finance reports.

Omar Kadir, the Democratic candidate for county treasurer, and Jessica Tiedt, the Democratic candidate for county clerk, brought in more fundraising money between Sept. 28 and Oct. 27 than Scott Heselmeyer and Nancy Rister, their respective Republican opponents.

Kadir, an accountant, raised $950, and Heselmeyer, the incumbent county treasurer, raised $350, documents show. Roles were reversed from the 30-day reports released Oct. 8 in which Heselmeyer had raised about $4,400 between July 1 and Sept. 27, and Kadir had raised about $3,300 during that same time, documents show.

In the eight-day report, Tiedt, a senior technical support engineer, raised nearly $3,200 between Sept. 28 and Oct. 27, and Rister, the incumbent county clerk, raised $450 in that same time, documents show. The 30-day documents show that Tiedt brought in about $4,800 between July 1 and Sept. 27, and Rister was able to raise about $10,700.

Monday was the deadline for candidates to file their eight-day financial reports.
