Pavement crack-sealing work began Thursday that will repair streets in 11 Sun City neighborhoods over the next three weeks. Work will occur in neighborhoods 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 35, 36, 60 and 63 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The sealing project should finish by June 1, but the deadline could extend if work is delayed by inclement weather, according to a news release from the city of Georgetown. Affected areas include neighborhoods along Del Webb Boulevard between Williams Drive and Berry Creek, as well as some neighborhoods along Whispering Wind Drive. Sun City residents and travelers in work areas will see periodic traffic delays between 15-30 minutes long. The delays will affect access to some residential driveways, according to the city. Work will not happen on days scheduled for solid waste or recycling collection. Crack-sealing is designed to preserve and prolong pavement life. Later this summer, the city plans to follow-up with additional pavement sealant work, according to the news release.
