Williamson County commissioners lifted the burn ban Aug. 15.

Commissioners first approved the ban at the July 28 Commissioners Court meeting.

The burn ban prohibited residents living within Williamson County from burning anything outdoors or burning anything combustible outside of an enclosed space, such as grill or barbecue pit without a lid.

Recent rainfall in the county and expected rainfall within the next week was the determining factor for lifting the ban, said Connie Watson, Williamson County public affairs manager.
