The Williamson County Fair and Rodeo will be open from Oct. 22-25 in Taylor. Attractions for this year include carnival rides, a children’s business fair, a petting zoo, pig races, the H-E-B Beer and Wine Garden and more.

Fun for the family

The fair kicks off on Wednesday with the junior rodeo, carnival and stick horse parade. Festivities continue on Thursday with the start of the United Professional Rodeo Association. Children can partake in the rodeo activities through the kid’s calf scramble and mutton bustin’ competitions. Families are encouraged to register their rider in advance to secure a spot.

To-do list

Attendees can expect live music all weekend from Elle Townley, Suede, All Hat No Cadillac and a Taylor Swift tribute show. Fairgoers are also invited to shop at the arts and crafts fair stocked with over 60 vendors selling handmade jewelry, holiday decorations and home goods.

One more thing

The fair will be held at the Williamson County Expo Center West Arena, which is currently under construction. Features at the new facility will include restrooms, showers, two 8-by-28-foot covered picnic pavilions and expanded gravel parking, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

The $10.7 million project initially broke ground in December 2024, with an expected 12-month timeline. However, construction is expected to conclude in October, with a ribbon cutting scheduled for Oct. 23, according to the Williamson County Parks newsletter.

Tickets for the fair and rodeo can be purchased online.
