Sorn Thai Kitchen by Seeda is expected to open in downtown Georgetown the first week in October, spokesperson and partner Brendan Sipple said.

The details

Sipple and his wife Sirin make up half of the founding partners, and together they own KHON Thai Kitchen by Seeda in Austin.

Sipple said Sorn will be slightly more elevated, serving dishes like New York steak served with basil fried rice, and squid-ink pad thai.

What’s special about it?

“Most of the Thai food restaurants you go to [are] what we call American-style Thai,” Sipple said. “It appeals to a lot of Americans. [In] our food we use a lot of spices from Thailand, so ours is more authentic Thai food. All of our recipes are from Thailand.”

Sipple said the food will made from scratch using a combination of the owners' family recipes. According to its Facebook page, the restaurant will also have a full bar.
