BioLife Plasma Services will open a donation center in Georgetown in late summer 2025.

BioLife is a part of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, which produces medicines for people with rare and serious health conditions as well as for critical-care settings.

Donations from more than 260 BioLife centers in the United States and Europe are used to help develop more than 20 approved brands of medicine made from plasma.

Donating plasma at the center can take up to an hour, with first time donors needing up to two hours for a donation. Donors are paid for each visit and can donate twice a week.
