An H-E-B grocery store, fuel center and car wash is coming to north Georgetown to anchor the new Parmer Ranch Marketplace shopping center.

The 110,000-square-foot store is set to break ground within 60 days and open by late summer 2025, said Milo Burdette, the vice president of development for Barshop & Oles Company, in an emailed statement.

Located on the northeast corner of Ronald Reagan Boulevard and RR 2338 within the Parmer Ranch subdivision, the store will be the farthest north of three other Georgetown H-E-Bs. For most Sun City residents, the store will be about a 10-minute drive away.

What else?

In addition to H-E-B, the shopping center will have two multitenant buildings and five pad sites, which could bring up to 25 new businesses to the area, Burdette said.

While leasing has begun, no other tenant announcements or site plans are available at this time.

Some context

The real estate firm Barshop & Oles Company also created Bar W Marketplace, another H-E-B-anchored shopping center, on the border of Leander and Georgetown.

Burdette cited Georgetown's explosive residential growth as a reason for the new developments. In 2023, Georgetown was named the fastest-growing city in the U.S. with an estimated population of 86,507, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

H-E-B company representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
