Chris Price is the owner and founder of Anthony Medical & Chiropractic Center, a one-stop musculoskeletal practice with seven locations across Central Texas.

His Georgetown East location off of I-35 opened in 2021, and his Georgetown West location near Sun City opened in January 2023.

Price spoke with Community Impact about why his practice is one of many chiropractic clinics moving to the area. This interview has been edited for length and clarity.

How did your practice begin?

I've been a chiropractor for over 20 years. ... We first opened in Temple in 2010, and that was our only clinic all the way up until 2018, when we decided to start expanding. First we expanded to the Killeen area and then to Waco, Copperas Cove, our two in Georgetown and then Round Rock. ... I'm no longer treating patients, but I am still overseeing the providers at each location.

Why did you decide to open two clinics in Georgetown?

We always wanted to open a location outside of Austin. Because Georgetown is growing so fast, it was just the perfect time. ... Within the first year at the [Georgetown] East location, we were already at capacity. That was our fastest growing clinic that we've ever had. And you know, it would take 15-20 minutes for some people to drive to the clinic, so we just figured it'd be best to have two. ... It was our first time opening two clinics in one city. ... Now we see about 350 patients per week at our [Sun City] location.

How is your practice different than other chiropractic clinics in the area?

We are very unique in the chiropractic world, because we're both a medical and chiropractic clinic. ... If you were to go to a normal chiropractic office, you would have to get a referral, go to your [primary care provider], and then they would refer you to someone that specializes in physical medicine. So you'd end up seeing three different people to get the treatment you actually needed—that can cost a lot of money. Whereas with us, you're going to see either a medical doctor or the chiropractor, depending on what your condition is. ... It's much easier to share information that way, so it's not like you're starting over each time.

What is your main patient demographic like in Georgetown?

We really have a wide demographic, from babies all the way up to 100 years old, but I would say our number one demographic would be women aged 30-60. ... The demographics [of Georgetown] are perfect for us. We see a lot of seniors at our [Sun City] location because that combination of medical and chiropractic care is really convenient for them.

When it comes to the medical industry, how is Georgetown different from other parts of Central Texas?

Many of our locations have been in smaller areas. So I think just being a little closer to Austin, you have a little more forward thinking people that are looking for alternatives to [prescription] pain medication. People are looking for more of a natural, alternative approach, which chiropractic care can be. About 86% of our patients never get prescribed any medication, which means they're getting treated through exercises, stretches, manipulation [and] nutritional supplementation.

What do you hope for the future?

We will continue to open locations in and around Georgetown, in the north Austin area, like Pflugerville ... [and] there's a good chance that we will open up a clinic that's more devoted to aesthetics and offers spa type services, but that'll probably be another year and a half or so.
