A.W. Craft Distillery is a gin distiller that started in Georgetown in March 2020. The distillery's flagship product is its Georgetown Texas Dry Gin, named after the city it was produced in.

Owner Andrew McClellan has been distilling gin since 2017, and this year Georgetown Texas Gin took silver at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in April and equaled that feat at the Denver International Spirits Competition and American Distilling Institute Judging of Craft Spirits Awards, some of the most prestigious spirits competitions in the United States, also in 2021.

“A.W. Craft Distillery takes our product from grain to glass, and that’s very rare now,” McClellan said about his distilling process. “We are the highest-awarded gin in the Austin area; we’re the little guy that’s outperforming bigger companies.”

Only two other gins from Texas medaled in San Francisco, both winning bronze.

McClellan offers Georgetown Gin at several on-premise locations in the city, including CJ’s Sports Bar and City Post Chophouse. You can also find A.W.'s gin on shelves at Spec’s and Total Wine in the Greater Austin area, and McClellan hopes to expand to more restaurants, bars, and liquor stores throughout Central Texas and said that he wants to offer his products to more locally owned establishments as well as national chains.
