The San Gabriel River Brewery will celebrate its grand opening Aug. 26-27 at 500 Chaparral Drive in Liberty Hill.

Patrick Peck and his brother, John, opened the brewery, which is located on a 7-acre property near the San Gabriel River, after several years of home-brewing beer for friends and family. The brewery had a soft opening in April.

The nano brewery features a selection of nine beers ranging from a hefeweizen to a honey porter, which will be available to sample during the event along with some new and seasonal brews, including the brewery's Oktoberfest and an apple cider, Patrick said. Beers are available by the bottle, in tasting flights and in pints, and the brewery will be adding kegs soon, he said.

"We have the capability to brew four styles at the same time," he said, adding that the building was designed to allow for future expansion; however, that would depend on demand.

The grand opening event will also feature brewery tours, games, door prizes and food from area food trucks, including Liberty Hill-based The Griddle on Friday evening and Austin-based Heretic Handhelds on Saturday.

The event will be Aug. 26 from 4-9 p.m. and Aug. 27 from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. The brewery's regular hours are Fri. 4-8 p.m. and Sat. noon-8 p.m.

Along with the grand opening event, Patrick said the brothers plan to host a chili cook-off in October, a barbecue cook-off in September and a medieval festival in the spring. The brewery will also be featured at the 2016 Texas Craft Brewers Festival in Austin on Sept. 24.

The brewery's beers are also available for purchase at Highway 29 Beverage and Parkers Corner Market TX in Liberty Hill, and Hamricks Market and Craft Beer in Cedar Park. Patrick said the beer will soon be available at The Monument Market in Georgetown.
