Following the estate of Roger Davidson gifting $1 million to Southwestern University, the stage at Alma Thomas Theater will now be known as the Davidson Stage.

The backstory

Davidson was a loyal supporter of the performing arts and graduated from SU in 1949 with a music degree, according to a university press release.

“We are deeply honored to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of Mr. Davidson, whose love for Southwestern and commitment to his alma mater, music, and the arts will now live on through the stage that bears his family’s name,” Vice President for University Relations Marie Muhvic said in the release.

The Davidson Stage is home to year-round live performances, including plays, musicals, comedy shows and concerts, according to the release.
