Hutto Has Heart has hired Paul McIntier as program coordinator to handle assistance applications and foster community relations with Williamson County organizations which provide services for Hutto residents.

McIntier said his new role for the nonprofit is a dream job.

“It’s one of the simple pleasures in life—to be able to help out your neighbor and spread a little good in the world,” McIntier said in a release. “I may not be able to do much by myself, but knowing that I had a small part in helping someone keep their lights on a little longer or get help finding a job? That’s a great feeling.”

In his new position, McIntier will work with Hutto residents who, due to hardship, need financial assistance with utility bills. In addition, he can put residents in touch with other service providers, such as the United Way, Goodwill or the Hutto Food Pantry, as well as direct residents to area job fairs or financial and career counseling services.

“We are thrilled to have Paul join our team at Hutto Has Heart,” Vice President Stacie Feller said. “Having him on board will allow us to offer regular office hours and more consistent help to our community.”

Hutto Has Heart also manages a Pink Out Fund to assist residents who face cancer-related debts. For the past several years, Hutto ISD students have hosted various fundraising activities to raise money for people with cancer.

“I’ve had family members and friends who’ve been affected by cancer, and I know the struggles with the disease itself can be bad enough,” McIntier said. “But when you add in the medical bills that can pile up, the whole thing can take an unbelievable toll. I want to be a part of easing that burden in any way I can.”
