Gluten-free dining options have expanded in the Lake Travis and Westlake regions in recent years, Blackbird Bakery owner Karen Morgan said. After offering gluten-free baked goods since 2008, she opened her first retail store in Lakeway in 2015.
“I honestly think gluten-free is becoming more of a culinary movement and not a fad,” she said. “Certain grains are not tolerated well by some people, and gluten-free is a way of eating [in which] these people can stay healthy.”
