Parking

The closest parking options are Lot 108, south of the Erwin Center, and Lot 118 at the intersection of southbound I-35 and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., on the north side of the building. Both lots only have entrances from the southbound frontage road of I-35. Each lot charges $12 for parking.

Another option is the Trinity parking garage, located across Red River Street from the Erwin Center at MLK and Trinity Street. The only entrance that will be used on the day of graduation will be from Trinity.

The Health Center Garage, located at Trinity and 15th Street, will also be open. Another parking garage is located at MLK and Speedway. Each garage charges $12 for parking.

Ushers will be located nearby garages to direct guests along the closest path to the Erwin center. They will be wearing neon green shirts or vests.

Additional garages and lots open for parking can be viewed here.

Handicap accessibility

Drivers can drop off mobility-impaired guests by turning into Lot 118 from the southbound frontage road of I-35. Those guests and fellow party members can enter the Erwin Center through doors on Red River. An elevator is available nearby.

All mobility-imparied seating is located on the back row of the arena level and on the first row of the mezzanine level.

What not to bring

Each guest will be required to go through security screenings with metal detectors upon entering the center. Guests will not be allowed to bring backpacks or knapsacks larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 12 inches, food or beverages, banners, signs, flags or balloons, noisemakers, cigarettes, fireworks, weapons and baby strollers.

Posters are limited to the size of a regular piece of paper at 8.5 by 11 inches and are not allowed to obstruct the view of the stage for other guests.

Food and beverages will be sold at the stadium's concession stands.

There is no smoking allowed within the center. Smoking is only allowed when an individual is located 6 feet away from a city street or the feeder road.

Other tips

The Erwin Center recommends carpooling downtown and expecting heavy traffic throughout the weekend. If you are meeting up with various guests, the Erwin Center suggests using the longhorn Bevo statue on the north side of the center as a potential gathering point.

Graduates should enter the building from the back door of the Erwin Center. They will exit from the same doors.

Recording of the ceremony is allowed, but no charging stations are available.

Seat saving is allowable for one to three seats, but any more than that is prohibited.

Lost and found will be available outside of sections 25 and 26 at the guest services booth.
